Artist statement
Project X Continued
This is a development of my journey into the world of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature. In these images tree roots seamlessly blend with the contours of human figures, evoking a sense of unity and connectedness. The images are meant to invite a feeling of our connection to the natural world and to prompt reflection on themes of growth, individual identity yet at the same time our place of belonging in the world that must prompt a responsibility for it.
About the artist
I have been a keen photographer for many years and ever since taking art at school I have been exploring every aspect of art through my photography and through various art mediums , more recently acrylics and gel printing as well as digital art. I love abstract art in particular as well as art in architecture representing art nouveau and art deco styles. I often create artistic work from photography , representing the landscape as something other than realistic representation , formed more to present what I feel about a scene rather than just a record of the moment. This has various levels of success but I continue to try. I have very recently found expression in digital art through my ipad and even more recently through AI which has allowed me to explore ideas and style of abstract and organic work which I was never able to before and has revitalised my creative spirit.
