The aim was to get an Egyptian atmosphere, spiced up with dark fantasy elements and heroism - the imaginary city was named Kandarpolis. The background consists of numerous black hieroglyphs on a beige parchment-like surface, creating a rich and mystical atmosphere. The symbols vary in shape and size, depicting various figures such as animals, humans, and objects, arranged vertically along the entire backdrop. The color palette includes mostly deep blues, earthy browns, burnt oranges, cream, and black, with watercolor effects adding texture and movement. I am a dedicated fantasy fan and have been passionate about the genre for about 35 years. I have quite a bit experience as a writer and editor, but have always been interested in painting. I have some experience in abstract art with acrylic & pencil drawing, and I have just started train myself utilizing digital painting softwares, and doing “magic” with AI (Stable Diffusion). AI has brought me closer to my dream: I can create my illustrated heroes, my favourite scenes for my short stories, for my novels, and of course my favourite reading experiences can come to life as images. I’m learning traditional and digital painting techniques and AI side by side. I strive to create something cool, unique, something memorable, because that’s always what drives me in my writing; I want to make something that makes a difference. And… probably the most important thing: I want to create a style that didn’t exist before. I want people to say, when they see my illustrations, “WOW! This is great! Cool. I love it!” This is my inner and strong motivation. I try to make it happen.
