Suspended States
This work emerged during a time of profound transition in my life. My workplace was undergoing major structural changes. Simultaneously, I was navigating a move to a new location, welcoming a new family member, and dealing with illness within my family. Beyond my personal sphere, the world itself seemed to be shifting - politically, socially, environmentally.
I found myself living in multiple states of suspension simultaneously. Nothing felt solid or predictable anymore. Yet within this uncertainty, I began to recognize something unexpected: the beauty of the in-between space. Yes, there were fears about the future, but there were also unprecedented opportunities emerging from the chaos.
The floating, fractured glass spheres became my way of exploring this condition. They represent all the aspects of life that feel broken or uncertain, yet they don't fall - they hover, they persist, they find new arrangements. The central metallic structure anchors them, like the core relationships and values that remain constant even when everything else shifts.
Through AI collaboration, I could visualize what I was feeling: that being suspended between states isn't a failure or a problem to solve, but perhaps a necessary condition for transformation. The cracks in the glass don't make the spheres worthless - they create new patterns of light and shadow, new ways of seeing wholeness.

My journey into art began in my childhood, in the small town of Achern. Evenings were often spent drawing and designing CD covers for local bands, sparking a passion that has only grown over time. City life and the impressions from my travels have deeply influenced my work. A pivotal moment came with a six-month collaboration with Karlsruhe sculptor Andreas Helmling. This experience not only helped me prepare my artist's portfolio but also taught me to take my craft seriously. Working with steel and wood under his guidance expanded my artistic horizons. My studies in industrial and media design introduced me to computer science, where I became captivated by algorithms capable of generating entire abstract worlds with just a few lines of code. This fascination led me to explore generative processes, blending art and technology in my creative pursuits.
